Back then, we briefly mentioned the possibility of placing a personal fingerprint. In this blog, we go into this in a bit more detail. We also give you some other great ideas and share with you a personal design from a customer.
There is nothing better than extra personalizing your dream jewellery. This could be to remember a deceased loved one, but a fingerprint in a ring can of course also symbolize a very beautiful moment in your life. For André Hazes (Jr) and his beautiful girlfriend Monique, we have made rings with the fingerprint of their son in it.
It will not surprise you, but getting a clear fingerprint of a little baby can be quite a task. Therefore, below we give a brief explanation of good and bad examples of fingerprints.
A fingerprint consists of fine, specific lines that are different for everyone. So when you want to have a fingerprint incorporated into a piece of jewellery, it is important to get the fingerprint right. For best results, choose slightly shiny paper, such as photo paper. This ensures the ink is not smudged into the paper and the lines remain more visible. With a stamp pad with black ink, you can easily press the desired finger into the ink and then gently place it on the paper. The softer you press the finger onto the photo paper, the sharper the fingerprint will be. If you press the finger firmly on the paper, the fingerprint will be too dark and blotchy. It then becomes difficult for our designer to extract the sharp lines of the fingerprint.
An example of the difference between a usable and unusable fingerprint is shown here. The print on the left is unfortunately not good enough. The lines are run through and not clear, because too hard a print was pressed on the paper. As a result, when converting into our 3D drawing programme, we don't get tight clear lines, so the print won't show up well in the ring. The print on the right, on the other hand, is good. Here you can see that the lines are clearly set on the paper. As a result, the print is also easy to convert in our 3D drawing programme.

From €70, we can incorporate a fingerprint into a piece of jewellery. However, this price depends on the design of the jewellery. On our website, there are a number of jewellery pieces that already include a print. The personalized print is then already included in the quoted price. FINGERPRINT OF DECEASED PERSON
If you would like to have a fingerprint of a deceased person incorporated into a piece of jewellery, it is important to think about this in good time. At the funeral home, they will have to make this print for you, and only when specifically requested. Note; the next of kin must give permission for this.
INCORPORATING YOUR OWN GOLD INTO A PIECE OF JEWELLERY
Have you seen a beautiful piece of jewellery on our website or do you have your own design and would you like to have your own gold incorporated in it? This is possible in almost all cases. We first have to check your own gold for quality and authenticity. When everything is in order, we will make a special casting for your jewellery. This ensures that your jewellery is actually made from the gold you have supplied yourself. Of course, we may not have enough of the gold you supplied. INCORPORATING OTHER MATERIALS INTO COMMEMORATIVE JEWELLERY
In our previous blog on memorial jewellery, we talked extensively about incorporating ash into jewellery. When ash is incorporated into a piece of jewellery in a visible way, we mix a little ash with enamel and place it in a piece of jewellery. Besides combining ashes with enamel, we can also place a piece of hair or fabric in enamel. This way, you can have a beautiful memory incorporated into a piece of jewellery in a visible way. Some time ago, we had the opportunity to make very special rings for a client with a sad connotation. The customer wanted a special ring for himself and his partner, in memory of their deceased children. Together with the customer, we came up with the rings below. A hand and footprint with the children's initials were placed in the rings. This way, they carry their most precious memory with them every day.
