We stand behind the quality of every piece of jewellery we make. We therefore provide an additional lifetime warranty for demonstrable material and manufacturing defects. This commercial warranty is in addition to, and does not limit, your statutory rights.

For maintenance, resizing or other work, view our jewellery service.
The warranty covers demonstrable defects in the material, construction or manufacture of jewellery made by DiamondsByMe. Our goldsmiths first examine the cause and condition before deciding whether the additional warranty applies.
Examples include:
These examples are not exhaustive. Each claim is assessed on its circumstances.
Fair wear and tear, routine care and damage arising during wear or use are not automatically covered. Examples include scratches, wear to rhodium plating, worn claws, clasps or hinges, deformation caused by impact or crushing, and damage from chemicals, chlorine or cleaning products.
Loss, breakage or damage of a diamond or gemstone is not automatically a warranty defect. The cause must first be established.
Stop wearing the jewellery if a stone is loose, a setting appears damaged or the item is deformed. Continued wear may cause additional damage.
Where loosening, loss, breakage or damage occurs within one year of delivery, our goldsmiths assess whether it resulted from an original manufacturing or setting defect, fair wear and tear or external damage.
More than one year after delivery, loosening, loss, breakage or damage of a diamond or gemstone is excluded from the additional lifetime warranty. This does not restrict statutory rights where a demonstrable original fault existed at delivery.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
You may have a 30-day short-term right to reject faulty goods. After that, you may normally require repair or replacement, followed in appropriate circumstances by a price reduction or final rejection.
For these later remedies, a fault appearing within six months is generally presumed to have existed at delivery unless DiamondsByMe proves otherwise or the presumption is incompatible with the circumstances. After six months, you will generally need to show that the cause was present at delivery.
Consumers generally have up to six years to bring a claim in England and Wales and five years in Scotland. These are legal limitation periods, not guarantees that every product must last for that period.
Photographs support an initial assessment, but a final technical conclusion may require physical inspection.
If a material or manufacturing defect is covered by this warranty or your statutory rights, we provide an appropriate solution free of charge as required.
If the issue is fair wear and tear, maintenance or accidental damage, we may still be able to help. Any chargeable work is undertaken only after you accept our advice and quotation.
Where the cause cannot immediately be established, we explain our findings and possible next steps.
Engraving, repair, resizing, polishing, setting or other alteration by a third party may affect our additional warranty and technical assessment.
It does not automatically remove statutory rights. We are not responsible to the extent the reported issue was caused by the third-party work or can no longer be reliably assessed because of it. Please contact us before instructing someone else where you suspect a fault.
Our goldsmiths can often help even where work is not covered. We provide advice and any quotation before carrying out paid work.
We recommend that regularly worn jewellery is professionally checked at least once a year and after a hard impact. Failure to arrange a check affects the additional warranty only for damage which timely inspection would probably have identified or prevented. Statutory rights remain.
Avoid wearing jewellery during strenuous work, sport, cleaning with aggressive products, or activities involving impact, crushing or deformation.
You do not need to decide before contacting us. Register the jewellery and we will assess it carefully.
